Head to Toe: Dress, Gift; Blazer, H&M; Flats, Vince Camuto.
I managed to snap these photos in the last minutes of daylight last week. Though the days are getting shorter, I'm not giving up the outdoors. After a few runs renting one, my mom sprung for a stand up paddleboard. We had a lovely afternoon Saturday paddling around the local marsh, and it was so refreshing to be on the water soaking in the sun. It has been an intense month for me but I'm looking forward to settling in to my routine and planning some fabulous fall weekends: apple picking, hiking, wine tasting and more paddleboarding. Count me in.

Making A Statement
Head to Toe: T-shirt, Gap; Pants, Loft; Booties, Target; Necklace, Anthropologie; Bag, Michael Kors.
I sported these ankle pants for a more casual work look Wednesday, another example of one of my favorite pairings: tee + statement necklace. And I can't believe it's that time again, but see my favorite September Instagrams below and don't forget to follow me for more at Style_Me_Annie. Happy Monday fashionista's, have a stylish week!

Oktoberfest
Last Saturday was my bestie's birthday, and it just so happened to be the same as Two Roads Brewery's Oktoberfest. What better way to celebrate a fall birthday than with beer and German food? We had a blast pigging out, enjoying the band and of course, drinking brews. Happy birthday Lizzy!

Work It!
Head to Toe: Blouse, Thrifted; Skirt, Loft; Heels, Payless; Wallet, Marshall's.
Hey fashionistas, hope you had a wonderful fall weekend. I went to a local Oktoberfest and scouted stand up paddleboarding locales with my mom (aka next weekend's plans). In other news, I started a new job today in marketing and social media! I'm really excited for the gig and am welcoming a change during this season of transformation. For New England Romance, this means more formal outfit posts plus casual weekend looks. Hope you're as excited as I am!

Truly Transitional
Head to Toe: Dress, American Eagle; Jacket, Target; Boots, Frye; Socks, Urban Outfitters.
Happy Friday fashionistas! It's that delicious time of year that allows boots and bare legs, and I'm happy to get another wear out of my summer dresses. How are you dressing for this in-between season?

Sweatshirt Redefined
Head to Toe: Sweatshirt, Marshall's; Jeans, Old Navy via Continuation's Consignments; Booties, Target; Bag, Thrifted.
Autumn has officially fallen. After last week's heat wave, the sudden chill took me by surprise. I'm excited to break out the boots and plan an apple picking endeavor, but I'm still hoping there will be one or two more beach days. For now, sweatshirts it is. One of my favorite trends for fall is a laid back sweatshirt (like this cozy steal from Marshall's), jazzed up with a statement necklace. Check out my Pinterest for more ideas.

Threads and Thoughts
Head to Toe: Dress, Forever 21 (from Continuations Consignments); Blazer, H&M; Heels, Vince Camuto.
I snapped these photos before attending the super-glamorous A-List Awards, put on by atHome magazine (check out my fall trend report on the mag's website). The show heralds the best of Connecticut designers and architects and I was lucky enough to attend. I like to stand out from the sea of black cocktail attire, so why not rock a horse-donned dress? Congrats to all who were nominated!
On another note, if you have noticed that my posts have been brief lately, a lot has been weighing on my mind. This past week, my grandpa passed away at the age of 85. Dr. Robert Trever was a loving father and grandfather, a devoted husband to my grandma for 59 years. My grandfather was also a brilliant doctor who had the deepest love for medicine and his patients, running his own practice until retiring at 77. His thirst for knowledge and curiosity about the world and its people was passed onto my mother and then to me. I also like to think I inherited a bit of his goofiness; he was always cracking one-liners. After being diagnosed with Parkinson's in the later years of his life, my grandpa's love for medicine drove him to learn more about the disease, and he hoped his case could help further research and treatment. He was a truly remarkable person, always happiest when surrounded by his family and I have nothing but happy memories to hold onto.

Short Shift
Head to Toe: Dress, Loft; Bag, Trifted; Booties, Target.
True to character for a season change in New England, the weather has been completely unpredictable. Yesterday felt like a crisp early fall day (perfect for this long sleeved shift) while tomorrow is supposed to reach near 90. I'll keep playing it safe with transitional outfits until Mother Nature makes up her mind.

Oxblood Remix
Perfect for a late summer night out, leather shorts and a casual top are still comfortable for warm temps, but feel more appropriate than the flouncy florals of last month.
Photos by Mackenzie, who was making me laugh...
